An apprentice's minimum salary by age and contract year, gross and net, using the 2026 scale.
How it works
Minimum pay as a % of the French minimum wage (SMIC, €1,867.02 gross a month for 35 h since 1 June 2026): under 18 27 / 39 / 55%; 18–20 43 / 51 / 67%; 21–25 53 / 61 / 78%; 26 and over 100%. For contracts signed since March 2025, the apprentice pays no contributions on the part of pay below 50% of the SMIC; above that, net pay is estimated with about 21% contributions. From age 21 the collective agreement minimum applies if it is higher.
